Vicar:  Reverend Andrew (Andy) Wilson

Andy profileAndy is married to Jacqui and they have three adult sons and one granddaughter  After a career in the IT industry, Andy trained for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol.  Andy was ordained in 1999 and served for 8 years at Hosanna, a new church forming part of Broadwater Parish in Worthing, West Sussex.

In 2007, Andy was appointed Vicar of Christ Church Portsdown.  In 2013, Andy was additionally licensed as Curate at the two neighbouring parishes of Crookhorn and Purbrook, as the three parishes began to work together.

In 2014, Andy was appointed as Joint Area Dean of Havant, with particular responsibility for the nine parishes around Waterlooville.

Andy is chaplain to Havant & Waterlooville FC, who play in the Football Conference South, the sixth tier of English football.

DSC00194Reader (Lay Minister):  Sandra Morgan

Sandra Morgan has been a lay reader for nearly eighteen years.  She completed her training in the Diocese of Derby.  Since 2006 she has exercised her ministry in London and Portsmouth.  She married Launce in 2011 at St. Peter’s Church, Somerstown.  After a time abroard Sandra and Launce now live in Port Solent and have been worshipping at Christ Church since August 2014.  Sandra also works as a supply teacher in secondary schools.

 

 

Cluster Clergy

Christ Church Portsdown is part of a cluster of three parishes along with the Church of the Good Shepherd, Crookhorn (CoGS) and St John the Baptist, Purbrook.  The Vicars of those two churches are also licensed as Curates at Christ Church Portsdown as we increasingly share ministry.
